Lightsong 02 – Gayatri Mantra: An Invocation to the Divine Light

The Gayatri Mantra is revered as the highest mantra in the Vedic tradition — a living prayer to Savitur, the Divine Sun, Source of all light, life, and consciousness.

This recording was made on the northern shores of Ibiza, in the raw elemental beauty of Benirràs — my other spiritual home.

☀️ Savitur, the Spiritual Sun

In the Vedic cosmology, Savitur is the spiritual Sun — not merely the sun in our sky, but the inner light that illuminates the soul and awakens divine intelligence. Savitur represents the radiant Source from which all consciousness arises.

When we chant the Gayatri, we are not only honouring the physical sun — we are attuning to the light within, calling in guidance, clarity, and remembrance of our true nature.

📜 The Vedic Tradition – A Primordial Transmission

The Vedas are among the most ancient spiritual texts known to humanity — not authored, but received by ancient seers (ṛishis) attuned to the cosmic intelligence of existence. The Vedic tradition is not a man-made religion, but a primordial transmission: wisdom passed down through vibration, vision, and mantra.

These teachings are the spiritual roots of Indian spirituality — the cradle from which Hinduism, Yoga, Ayurveda, and mantra practice emerged. They are living streams of remembrance that still ripple through time.

✨ Sanskrit – The Language of Light

The Gayatri Mantra is written in Classical Sanskrit, an ancient language said to be highly codified, vibrational, and luminous. Many spiritual seekers regard it as a “language of Light” — not just for its poetic beauty, but for the effect it has on the body, energy, and soul when chanted.

Each syllable of Sanskrit is crafted to resonate with subtle energies, unlocking doorways in consciousness and harmonising the inner being.

ॐ भूर् भुवः स्वः

तत् सवितुर्वरेण्यं

भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि

धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्

Om Bhur Bhuvah Svah

Tat Savitur Varenyam

Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi

Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

Translation:

✨ We meditate on the most sacred Light of the Divine Sun.
✨ May that radiant Light illuminate and guide our consciousness.

This mantra is both an offering and a request: to be filled with the Light of divine awareness, and to let that Light guide the intellect, the heart, and the path ahead.
